Plot summary
Two rival nations, North Hemis and South Hemis, each want to be first to reach Mars. A scientific expedition prepares for that voyage, and its ship Homeland stands ready at a space station while the crew waits for the order to begin. A ship from the other side, the Typhoon, reaches the same station with mechanical trouble, and its people hold the same plans for Mars. Eager not to fall behind, one crew departs before its ship is ready.

His edit runs 13 minutes shorter.
