Plot summary
The state put Babak to death for a crime he did not commit, and the error surfaces only after the execution. The bureaucracy tells his wife Mina that it is sorry and that compensation may be available to her. She wants an apology rather than money. For the sake of her deaf daughter Bita, and out of self-respect, she begins a fight of her own against a cynical apparatus and keeps pressing her demand before the officials. Her money runs out, and she loses her flat. Just then a stranger named Reza appears, saying he was in Babak's debt and wants to pay it.
