Plot summary
An agent of the Organised Crime Division, Rebecca Ryan works undercover as a taxi driver, investigating London's south-side mob. She finds her young daughter Lynn murdered, and fears that her cover has been blown and that the mob is behind it. She turns renegade, hunting the people she believes killed the girl, and the pursuit carries her through London's underworld. As she hunts, her sense of right and wrong and her ideas about justice and revenge begin to shift. The division sets two agents on her trail: the world-weary Darius Cuise and his newly assigned and hot-tempered partner Abby Barrett.

- Sarah Harding of the girl band Girls Aloud made her feature-film acting debut in Bad Day, but her next film, St Trinian's 2: The Legend of Fritton's Gold, reached the public first because of release schedules.
- Bad Day was one of the first independent feature films shot entirely in the UK with the Panasonic AG-HVX200 P2 camera, even though The British Film Catalogue wrongly listed it as shot on 35 mm film.
- The visual effects supervisor on Bad Day had previously worked on The Da Vinci Code but said he completed more individual effects shots on Bad Day, which used green-screen driving, muzzle flashes, squibs and day-for-night manipulation.
