Plot summary

A corrupt mayor, Park Sung-bae, pays Han Do-kyung for jobs he wants kept quiet. Han is a homicide detective whose wife is dying of cancer, and the money covers her hospital bills. Two prosecutors, Kim Cha-in and Do Chang-hak, work a corruption case and know how badly Han needs the cash, so they pressure him into gathering material against Park Sung-bae. The mayor, meanwhile, still keeps him close and uses him for his own ends. Moon Seon-mo, a junior detective who looks up to Han as a brother, quits the force and goes to work for the mayor as well.
