Plot summary
A car accident involving a dog changes the life of Stella, a teenage girl who is clumsy, cynical, imaginative and tormented. She becomes convinced that her age should be counted the way a dog's is, one year of her life for every seven, which means that at sixteen she is a centennial. Believing that she does not have much time left to live, she writes a bucket list of everything she wants to achieve before she dies.
