The Angels are a motorcycle gang whose drug deal comes apart when the cops arrive. Long John, Juicer and Monk agree to meet in the desert a few days later to complete the sale, and on the ride out they fall in with the Dragons, a rival club. Its leader, General, brings the Angels to Lost Cause, an old ghost town where a group of hippies has started a commune. General loses a race to Long John. Did you know?!Facts and trivia about Angels Hard as They Come (1971)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- Corman read Demme and Viola's first draft in eight weeks at a London bar, invited them to Los Angeles two months later to make the film, and said: "Love the rape scene, love the murder, now let's throw the rest of this stuff out."
- Scott Glenn recalled that actors had to show up to the film on a motorcycle, because the filmmakers figured any actor would claim to ride one; Glenn had been on motorcycles his whole life.
- The cast included members of both the Hells Angels and the Gypsy Joker, which Glenn found interesting because the two motorcycle clubs were not getting along well at the time.
