James Iglehart
Biography
James Iglehart is a former American actor who played professional baseball before turning to acting and made six films in the 1970s. He is best known as the lead in the 1973 blaxploitation film Savage! (1973), playing a criminal on the run who joins a revolution against a military government. Earlier he appeared as Randy Black in Russ Meyer's Beyond the Valley of the Dolls (1970) and as Clay Rutherford in The Seven Minutes (1971). He also starred with Scott Glenn and Gary Busey in the biker film Angels Hard as They Come (1971). Later leads included Bamboo Gods and Iron Men (1974), a Filipino martial arts and blaxploitation film, and his final role was in Death Force (1978). On television in 1970 he had roles in Headmaster and The Bold Ones: The Senator.
