Plot summary
The warship Gromoboy is in the hands of anarchist sailors in 1918, and their leader Vozhak dominates the crew. The Bolshevik Central Committee sends a woman commissar aboard with orders to turn the naval unit into the First Sailors' Regiment for the front in the Black Sea region. She must earn the trust of the sailors and put an end to the anarchy on the ship. Lieutenant Bering, one of the few officers left aboard, once served on the battleship Imperator Pavel I in the tsarist navy, and he is appointed commander of the regiment.
