Plot summary
Russell Williams holds the rank of colonel in the Royal Canadian Air Force and is promoted to lead Canadian Forces Base Trenton. He and his wife, Mary Elizabeth Harriman, celebrate at her charity fundraiser, and the two are respected in their small town of Tweed, Ontario. The night after that event, a hooded intruder enters a young girl's bedroom while she is away with family and takes bras, underwear and a photograph of her. In another break-in, someone waits in a closet while a woman returns home, then leaves a message on her computer screen. Townspeople call the man the Tweed Creeper. Detective Jennifer Dobson, a local officer, investigates the break-ins with Nick Gallagher, a Toronto detective on exchange in Tweed.
