An Earthy Paradise for the Eyes (2009) on Netflix

Plot summary

In Prague during the normalization years, Gábina is a teenager whose family the pro-Soviet secret police keep under observation. It follows 1968, when the reforms of the Dubček era were revoked and the country's legislation and customs were rolled back by the state. Gábina's family is a dissident one, and the surveillance also covers its friends, continuing into 1977. Her father is a well-known actor whom the regime has disavowed; he abandoned the family years earlier. His existence still casts a shadow over Gábina, her older sister and their mother, who look for a way through the social pressures of the time.
