Adrift in Tokyo (2007) on Netflix

Plot summary

Aiichiro Fukuhara, a debt collector, comes after Fumiya Takemura, a law student in his eighth year at university who owes 800,000 yen and cannot pay. Then Fukuhara makes a different offer: the debt will be written off, and a million yen paid, if Takemura accompanies him on a walk across Tokyo. Takemura accepts, and the two start from a distant corner of the city, heading downtown. Fukuhara says he intends to turn himself in at police headquarters once the walk is over, and he does not rush. He steers their route past the places where Takemura grew up, and the pair keep meeting unusual people along the way.
