Plot summary
Jessica Slocum is eleven, and her mother died when she was three. Her father Jim works long hours and has little time for Jessica. Just before the holidays, Jessica wins a wish at a wishing well and asks for a mother for Christmas. Philomena grants it: Amy Miller, a mannequin in a department store, comes to life as a mom for the girl, with one condition. Amy can hold the role only until Christmas Eve. To explain her to Jim, Amy says she is a nanny from Australia hired to look after Jessica while he is at work.
