Plot summary
Rie Taniguchi, divorced, returns to her hometown with her child, meets a man named Daisuke there, and marries him. They are building a family with their new baby when Daisuke dies in an unforeseen accident. At his memorial service his older brother Kyoichi appears, a relative the household has not seen in many years. Rie then comes back to Akira Kido, the lawyer who once acted for her, with a request: he is to look into the background of the husband she has buried.
