Plot summary
Two knights, Bhodie and William, ride out to find the girl their kingdom's prophecy names as its savior. She is Avalon, a red-haired girl, and when the two men reach her, cultists seize her and cast her into a hellish realm of demons and monsters. William sends Bhodie in after her. At the gate, Bhodie strikes a bargain with its Gatekeeper, who gives him a talisman that lets him live the same day over when he dies. The realm's witches and demons, and its three lords, hold the way to Avalon, and the gate home has yet to be opened.
