Plot summary
In the middle of the 19th century, a hurricane hits Jamaica, prompting Frederick and Alice Thornton to send their five children to England for schooling. At sea, pirates board the ship, and the children inadvertently end up on the pirate vessel. Chavez, the pirate captain, and his first mate Zac worry about being accused of kidnapping, so they head for Tampico. There they plan to leave the children with Rosa, who runs a brothel and will keep them safe. Rosa tells the pirates that the authorities are looking for them, but Chavez and Zac do not think they have done anything wrong.
