Plot summary
Henrietta is left minding her bickering grandchildren on a Christmas shopping trip and calms them with a story about Alternis, a Christmas spirit. In the story, Tessia, a school principal, and her fiance Dr. Joseph Kingsley have moved their families into one house. Brandon, a basketball star at Thatcher Prep Academy, wants to ask Vanessa to the ball but would rather spend the holiday with his father. At school, Gregory bullies Aiden, Emily's ten-year-old brother, for still believing in Santa Claus. Aiden mixes blue and red ingredients to call on Alternis, who says he will let each family member see the others' point of view. That night the three children swap bodies.
