Plot summary

Ravi and Rita are both on Arranged, a website their mothers use to find spouses for their America-based Indian children. Their first date, at a dry reservoir, is awkward: he brings a vegetarian meal because her profile says she is one, then pours out the hard lemonade he brought after she points out the site calls him a teetotaler. Alerts about COVID-19 reach both their phones, and they end up at her cluttered apartment, where his canceled train and a car agency that cannot deliver until morning leave him on her couch. He sets off on foot at dawn, only to learn the rental will take another three days, and settles in to shelter in place. Cleaning relaxes him. She tells him she has no interest in marriage, while he says he needs one before any intimacy.
