Plot summary
Jake LaFond repairs cars at the shop his late father left him and his brother Denton in Otis, Vermont, and money is tight. Out on the mountain, campers have been attacked, and when Jake and Denton drive up to an abandoned truck they find the cabin wrecked and Denton bitten. The infection spreads: residents turn violent and attack one another. Alex, Jake's ex-girlfriend, is in town taking water samples for the state laboratory, and Randy, a street plower, joins the two of them when the sheriff's station turns dangerous. A wreck on the only road out has cut Otis off from the outside, so Jake, Alex and Randy set out to learn what the parasites are and stop them reaching anyone else.
