Plot summary
In present-day Budapest, protests mark the run-up to an election, in a city still living with the weight of its history, distant and recent. A policewoman there is so affected by panic disorder that she avoids crime scenes and has worked a desk in an office for over a decade. She is a lone mother who cannot keep up with her mortgage and struggles with a rebellious teenage daughter. No one believes the troubled ex-detective's claim that she has found a serial murder case. The daughter wants to learn the truth about her father, and the city holds nothing honest or true except as seen through the eyes of the two of them.
