Plot summary

Will tends bar in a run-down New Orleans bar. One night Alicia, an ex, her boyfriend Jeffrey, a drunk friend named Eric, and a group of college students are among the customers. Eric gets into a fight and takes a broken bottle to the cheek. The students flee, and Will finds a phone one of them left behind. He goes home to Carrie, his student girlfriend. On the phone, messages arrive from someone named Garrett, who says he is scared and that something from a tunnel is following him. By morning Garrett has sent a photo of a pile of bloody teeth, and Carrie insists they contact the police. Will checks on Eric, whose wound is infected; Eric refuses medical help and says he has nightmares, and Will sees inhuman flesh inside the wound.
