Plot summary
Willie Dynamite dresses in matching bright suits and hats and drives a purple Cadillac around midtown Manhattan, where his seven women work the hotel trade. His ambition is to be the number one pimp in the city, a rank held by Bell, who gathers the pimps and proposes that each take a separate territory. Willie rejects the plan. Cora, a social worker who once worked the streets herself, meets the women in jail and at their apartment, telling them Willie is taking their money, and presses Pashen, his newest recruit, to try modeling instead. Cora's lover, Robert Daniels, is a district attorney who wants Willie prosecuted.
