Plot summary

Johnny Gosch was a paperboy in Iowa who went missing as a boy, and thirty years later the case was still open. The documentary centers on his mother, Noreen Gosch, and the long campaign she has waged to learn what happened to her son. Johnny was the first missing child in the country whose face appeared on a milk carton. In the decades since, strangers have reported sightings of him and offered claims about what became of him, and Noreen Gosch has followed up on those accounts. Among the people she meets is a man who says he helped abduct Johnny.
