Plot summary
This documentary is built around five interviews with people who played a central role during the HIV/AIDS crisis in San Francisco. Ed Wolf works as a counselor to gay men. Paul Boneberg is involved in political activism. Daniel Goldstein, an HIV-positive artist, has lost two partners to the disease. Guy Clark dances and sells flowers from a corner stand near the Castro, often providing them for funerals. Eileen Glutzer is a nurse who assisted in the administration of clinical trials for antiretroviral drugs. Their recollections trace the disease's arrival and the community's response in the early years of the epidemic.
