Hsiao-kang sells niches in a commercial ossuary in Taipei. He notices a key left dangling in the lock of a vacant apartment by a real estate agent, pockets it and moves into one of the bedrooms. May Lin, the agent, uses the same empty apartment for her affairs, and one day she leads Ah-jung, who has followed her from a food court, there. Ah-jung takes the key from her, brings his belongings back and settles into an adjoining bedroom. The two men encounter each other in the apartment and argue.
