Plot summary
A stuntwoman in the motion picture industry, Laurie Collins takes a job in a small town close to where her younger sister Bonnie Cusack lives. Laurie invites Bonnie to visit the set, and Bonnie agrees. During a night of partying, a man picks Bonnie up in a bar and tries to rape her at gunpoint. Self-defense moves her sister taught her let Bonnie overpower him, and she kills him with his own gun. Her attacker was the son of a powerful local politician, so Bonnie, an out-of-towner, is charged with murder and convicted. When Bonnie dies in state prison, Laurie drives drunk on purpose, aiming to be arrested and imprisoned herself.
