Plot summary
Kalindi and Rishabh have shared a home in Australia for two years. She argues against marriage in principle, shaped by parents who quarreled and by her father Kishan's remarriage, but when Rishabh proposes she accepts for his sake and flies to Delhi for the celebrations. Her three friends come: Avni, a divorce lawyer whose mother keeps searching for a groom; Sakshi, who is married but now lives with her parents; and Meera, married to an American named John and still estranged from her father, who opposed the match. Kalindi lodges with her uncle Kuki, whose partner is Keshav. Rishabh's family treats every Hindu wedding ritual as deeply important and wants a destination wedding for a thousand guests, while Kishan thinks of a community hall, and Kalindi worries about the expectations that will follow the marriage.
