Plot summary

The America's Cup is the most prestigious competition in sailing, and the New York Yacht Club has kept the trophy for 132 years, the longest win streak in the history of the sport. In 1983 a scrappy group of Australians bands together to challenge that hold. Sailing Australia II, the crew brings motivation, dedication and innovation to a campaign against the American defenders. Key members of the 1983 United States and Australian crews sit down for interviews about what the contest asked of them, and the Americans give their side of the challenge. Archive footage joins their accounts of the races.
