Plot summary
On November 19, 2004, the Indiana Pacers and the Detroit Pistons meet at The Palace of Auburn Hills early in an NBA season, and tensions are already high. Detroit came out on top when the two teams met in the previous season's Eastern Conference Finals, and this game is a home sellout for the Pistons. With 45.9 seconds on the clock, Ron Artest of the Pacers fouls Ben Wallace of the Pistons, and the teams confront each other on the court. Artest lies down on the scorers table and is struck by a drink thrown from the stands. He goes into the crowd after the fan he believes threw it, and players and fans fight.
