Esmeralda Villalobos searches for what destroyed her family. Her late husband was an executive at a multinational mining company, and his last traces lead to La Alameda, a mining town in Colombia. Joaquín, a farmer familiar with that land, helps her. Together they uncover something more sinister than the town shows, and a society with ambitions over the gold and the territory there.
