Plot summary
Elijah works at his family's barbecue restaurant in Memphis, alongside his father Louis and mother Sylvia. Louis expects Elijah to take over the business, but Elijah is drawn to wine and wants to become a master sommelier. At a family dinner, Louis criticizes him for forgetting a restaurant task, and Elijah admits he attended a sommelier school mixer. Elijah meets Tanya, and on a date he tells her his dream; she encourages him to pursue it. He passes the difficult entrance exam and is admitted to the Master Sommelier program. When Elijah finds Louis planning a second restaurant, he tells his father he does not want to take over and will continue working while studying wine.
