Plot summary
In February 2014 the Ukrainian Navy minesweeper Cherkasy lies at its base on Lake Donuzlav in Crimea, where Myshko and Lev, two men from the same village, serve in the crew. The sailors are at drills and naval exercises when President Viktor Yanukovych flees Ukraine during the Maidan protests and the peninsula is taken over by "little green men". Cherkasy returns to port to find it already lost. Russian forces close the way out of the bay with flooded vessels, trapping the Ukrainian ships inside, and one crew after another hands over its vessel. On Cherkasy, Myshko, Lev and their shipmates refuse to give up the ship.
