Plot summary

In 1917 Fanny Kaplan leaves prison blind and settles in the Crimea. There she becomes involved with Dmitriy Ilyich Ulyanov, the doctor treating her and the brother of Vladimir Ulyanov Lenin. The return of her first lover, Viktor Garskiy, the bandit she went to prison for, now in the Bolshevik ranks and the Russian secret police, breaks that relationship off. Her history includes an anarchist bomb plot in Odessa and years in Siberian labor camps. Ten pages are missing from the case against her, and she is accused of an attempt on Lenin's life in 1918.
