Tru Confessions (2002) on Netflix

Plot summary

Trudy Walker is a teenager who wants to make films and host her own television show, and she is unhappy with much of her life. Eddie, her twin, has a learning disability that has never been identified and that came from oxygen loss at birth; he behaves like a small child, and outings with him often turn chaotic. Tru cannot reason with him and resents the way her classmates treat him, while at home she feels her mother favors Eddie. She learns of a video contest that will give its winner a show, and her mother greets the news without enthusiasm. When her English teacher tells her to choose a subject that matters to her, Tru tries an idea of her own, and her friends call the result boring.
