Plot summary
In 1987, the Sweet 16 Killer stabs three teenage girls in the town of Vernon, 16 times each, on their 16th birthdays. Decades later, on Halloween, Jamie Hughes attends a concert with her friend Amelia while her mother Pam hands out candy at home, and the killer comes for Pam. While Jamie grieves, reporter Chris Dubasage tells her that her mother received a note from the killer, and she helps Amelia finish a time machine. When the killer chases her, Jamie hides inside it and is thrown back to 1987, where she passes herself off as a Canadian exchange student and sets out to stop the original spree.
