To What Remains (2021) on Netflix

Plot summary

More than 80,000 Americans have been listed as missing in action since World War II. Their remains lie in the depths of the ocean and in far corners of the earth, and a small team has made the search for them its life's work. The group brings together historians, scientists, oceanographers, archaeologists, military veterans and researchers. They comb the sea floor and remote ground for any sign of the missing, and the aim is to recover what is found and return it to the United States. One case in that effort centers on pilots reported missing with their planes at Peleliu.
