Plot summary
Sherry Conley is in prison over an offense she did not knowingly commit. U.S. attorney Lloyd Hallett offers her freedom if she testifies against the mobster Benjamin Costain, and he installs her in a hotel room instead of a cell while he argues his case. Detectives under Lt. Vince Striker guard her, along with Mrs. Willoughby, the prison matron who escorted her. Sherry puts off a decision and orders expensive meals from room service, and an attraction takes hold between her and Striker. The crime kingpin keeps making attempts to reach her.
