Plot summary
Wealthy spouses Jack and Jennifer spend Christmas on a yacht in the Caribbean. Their crew includes Manuel, a deckhand whom Jennifer and her friend Gail find handsome. Maria, Manuel's former girlfriend, is angry and curses him just before the yacht leaves, and he is bothered by it. He has trouble carrying out requests, which irritates Jack. After hearing Jennifer and Jack together in their cabin, Manuel becomes fixated on her. When Captain Richards challenges him, Manuel walks off the job, tossing aside a rag that falls onto a gas flame. Fire spreads through the yacht, and the captain's extinguisher cannot stop it, so the passengers and crew take to the lifeboats. A storm that night flips the boats and scatters everyone.
