Plot summary
In Nootka Sound, a narrow stretch of water between mountains on the west coast of Vancouver Island, a young wild killer whale is alone, having lost contact with his family pod. The orca, nicknamed Luna, makes friends with people. Rambunctious and surprising, he is like a visitor from another planet, and he endears himself to those he meets through his determination to make contact with them. That contact brings laughter, conflict and unexpected consequences.
