The Urban Demographic (2005) on Netflix

Plot summary

K-Sof, a classical music station in Seattle, has watched its ratings and revenue fall, so management brings in the media consulting firm Sachs and Cohen to assess how the station can reclaim its prominence. Their market study recommends a switch to urban contemporary rap, and the station returns as K-Hip. The change provokes a boycott organized by the protest group The Sista's For Justice, whose leader, Rea Williams, is the live-in girlfriend of Oliver Jackson, a longtime hip hop fan who works nights as the station's maintenance man. Jackson is torn between the music he loves and Williams, who wants rap off the air. Bob Johnson is hired to manage K-Hip's bid for the top spot, and he falls for Joy Campbell, a retail worker who objects to the images in rap music.
