Plot summary
Francisco Franco's dictatorship ruled Spain for more than thirty-five years after a cruel civil war, and its censors kept subversive ideas out of the country. A Clockwork Orange, released in 1971 and counted by critics and audiences among the best works in cinema history, clashed with the regime's strict moral code, and the government banned it. On April 24, 1975, at the twentieth edition of the Seminci in Valladolid, the long-running religious festival, the film was shown uncensored, in a city seen as one of the country's most conservative. The documentary sets out to explain how that came about, and it also asks whether a movie can change the world.
