Plot summary
Across ten episodes, the documentary examines the logic behind modern schooling and the way education is understood. It looks at who holds authority in a classroom, how pupils are graded and sorted apart, what institutions are expected to do for society, and where teachers and families fit. Beside this, it visits schools in Latin America and Spain that work outside convention, showing practices such as popular education, the Montessori and Waldorf approaches, progressive schooling and learning at home. Nearly half an hour of animation and a fictional thread following Martín, Micaela and Juan hold the episodes together. Funding came from a crowdfunding campaign, and the film was released under a Creative Commons license.
