Plot summary
In 1994, the Winter Games in Lillehammer put two figure skaters before a worldwide audience. Nancy Kerrigan came from the Northeast; Tonya Harding arrived with a turbulent career behind her and scandal around her. Weeks before the Olympics, on January 6, 1994, an unknown assailant clubbed Kerrigan on the right knee at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships. The attack turned the season that followed into a national drama, and figure skating reached an audience far beyond the one it usually drew. Two decades on, the story goes back through Harding's career and life, and through the questions about what she knew that are still open.
