Plot summary
Ronaldo Nazario is 21 in 1997, the best footballer in the world and a player destined for greatness. A year later the World Cup final against France brings defeat for Brazil, and the blame falls on him. Two serious knee injuries then put his career at risk. Family members, teammates, opponents and the doctors and surgeons who treated his knees all take part in the account, which covers the years at the top, the bleak period that follows and his return to form. Ronaldo and Roberto Carlos also describe the events of that final's afternoon in room 290 of the Chateau de Grande Romaine.
