Plot summary
Filho da Mãe is a documentary about Paulo Gustavo and his mother, Dona Déa, who perform together in a musical show and take it on tour. The film follows the backstage of what was the actor's last tour and gathers never-before-seen footage of the two of them. Dona Déa was his inspiration for Dona Hermínia, the protagonist of Minha mãe é uma peça, the biggest hit in the history of Brazilian cinema. Photographs and videos from Paulo's childhood and adolescence also appear, and close friends talk about what it was like to live with him.
