Plot summary
Lei Li is a skilled swordsman whose rise in the wulin draws the jealousy of Long Yizhi, leader of Tiger Mansion. Long sends his men to rob and lays the blame on Lei Li, then hides behind his standing in the martial world and offers to settle the quarrel, defeating Lei Li with a three-section staff. Disgraced, Lei Li cuts off his right arm and drops out of the wulin. He takes work as a waiter in an eatery, where customers mock his missing limb. Ba Jiao, the blacksmith's daughter, treats him with respect and urges him to return to the martial world. When two thugs come to the eatery and molest her, Lei Li fights them off, and a passing swordsman, Feng Junjie, joins the fight. The two men introduce themselves and become sworn brothers.
