Plot summary
Textile artist Allan Brown spends seven years creating a dress by hand from stinging nettles he gathers on the South Downs near Brighton. The dress is an example of hedgerow couture, the greenest form of slow fashion. For Brown, the slow making of the dress is a way of surviving the death of his wife, which left him and his four children bereft.
