The Lawless Frontier (1934) on Netflix

Plot summary

John Tobin's parents were killed by the outlaw Pandro Zanti, and Tobin has been hunting him since. Zanti leads a gang that has its eye on Ruby, who lives on a ranch with her grandfather, the aged prospector Dusty. Zanti arrives at the ranch with a horse meant as a gift for Ruby, a prelude to an abduction, but finds the place deserted. Ruby has overheard the gang's plans through a secret passage. Her father ties her to a horse and gets her away from the gang. On the road to town, they cross a river and Ruby nearly drowns. John Tobin pulls her from the water. Tobin and Ruby elude the outlaws and reach town, where the sheriff suspects Tobin is part of Zanti's gang. Tobin slips away to go after the bandits.
