Plot summary
Luciana works in a weaving factory in a city of Tuscia and loves her husband Stefano. He does not always have a job, and the two of them struggle to get by. After years of trying for a child, she learns she is pregnant, and the factory fires her because of the pregnancy. Money becomes a daily problem, and she finds no one willing to listen to her. In the same city arrives Antonio Zanzotto, a shy policeman from Verona, transferred after an incident in the line of duty.
