Plot summary
Bangkok, 1981: Sean Donahue wins a kickboxing title, and on the way back to his hotel he and his younger brother Jake are ambushed. Khan, angry that Sean was not supposed to win, beats Sean to death in front of Jake. Ten years later Jake is a New York detective. His captain, O'Day, offers him an Interpol assignment in Thailand: break up a ring that makes snuff films. Jake refuses until he watches a confiscated tape and sees that Khan is its star. In Thailand his contact Anderson explains that the ring scouts fighters, so Jake trains at a Muay Thai school, where the fighter Thasi notices him and points him to Prang, a hermit who once came close to beating Khan.

- According to Loren Avedon, he shot his scenes with Richard Jaeckel, who played his character's boss, separately. During the scene where his character screams after remembering the death of his brother, Avedon told director Lo he wanted to toss the film tape into the fire in anger, and he did not get along with co-star Sherrie Rose.
- Sherrie Rose got the love scene against Loren Avedon after another actress refused to do the topless nudity, but Rose herself complained when it came time to shoot; the filmmakers were careful to use only a few seconds of the nudity.
- Billy Blanks' villain Khan inspired the character Dee Jay in the 1993 video game Super Street Fighter II, according to James Goddard, a former member of Research and Development at Capcom.
