Dean Harrington

Dean Harrington is an actor, stuntman, and producer-director whose film and video work spans more than two decades. He began his training at a San Francisco theater company, the Julian, in the early 1970s. During the 1980s he became a stuntman and actor in Hong Kong cinema, working with John Woo and Ringo Lam. He appeared in American, European, and Japanese films, notably Returner (2002), directed by Takashi Yamazaki. His voice work spans commercials, documentaries, corporate videos, and features, and he has voiced Japanese games since their early years. He worked as assistant sound effects editor with William Oliver on Big Heat, a Hong Kong feature, and later with independent filmmaker Karl Neubert on award-winning Turns of the Wheel. His first documentary, In the World of Acupuncture, was filmed on Hi-8 video in China and Japan during the 1990s. He helped found Tokyo International Film Shorts, held at the Blue Note Jazz Club in Tokyo.
